DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NETWORK ANALYZER AND SPECTRUM ANALYZER

NETWORK ANALYZER

  1. Measure components, devices, circuits and subassemblies
  2. contain source and multireceiver
  3. measure ratioed amplitude and phase response (freq sweep and power sweep)
  4. offer advanced error correction
  5. harder to get an accurate trace (result) on display but it is easy to interpret the result.
  6. always looking for known signal (stimuls -response system)

SPECTRUM ANALYZER

  1. Measure amplitude(magnitude) characteristic, carrier level, sideband , harmonics and phase noise
  2. can demodulate(& measure) complex signals
  3. are receiver only(single channel)
  4. can be used for scalar component test(no phase) with tracking generator or external source
  5. much wide range of IF bandwidth.
